Pay: $30-$34/hour based on experience

Shifts Available:

  • 1st Shift, 7am-3pm
  • 2nd Shift, 3pm-11pm (includes an additional $1/hour Shift Differential)

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Communicates with production personnel and supervisors regarding problems or potential problems with equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical equipment, and electronic control circuits on flexographic printing presses, bag machines, slitters, laminating equipment, etc.
  • Installs, starts-up and shuts-down equipment according to safety procedures
  • Works with equipment vendors on installation of new equipment and coordinates efforts of equipment vendors.
  • Conducts daily inspections of and performs maintenance as needed on incinerator equipment, air compressors, conveyors, and compactors
  • Performs preventative maintenance on printing and converting equipment according to schedule and specifications
  • Inspects rooftop air conditioners and heating units
  • General building maintenance as needed
  • Identifies major components needed for inventory and orders parts
  • Maintains required maintenance records for equipment
  • Assists and trains other maintenance personnel as required
  • Ensure maintenance office and work area is kept clean according to facility and corporate standards.
  • Must be able to identify and understand use of specific hand tools without assistance
  • Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements
  • Must follow written Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), follow Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs applicable to the position, and perform various cleaning and inspection duties to maintain SQF and food safety compliance as assigned. Report any potential GMP violations to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor

Expectations:

  • To efficiently maintain all production equipment and plant facilities in proper working condition for maximum productivity, while meeting time and outcome expectations and exceeding safety regulations

 

Decision making accountability:

  • Various decisions are made regarding how to make changes and repairs to equipment as much of the work is done independently
  • Independently assesses equipment issues, identifies necessary replacement parts, and is authorized to research, source, and order parts. If parts are obsolete, determines and secures appropriate replacement parts to ensure timely and effective repairs.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Technical degree or advanced education preferred 

Professional background

  • Experience in Flexographic printing industry as an Industrial Maintenance Technician preferred

Professional competencies

  • Welding experience
  • PLC knowledge
  • Experienced with maintenance on Flexographic Printing presses and Bag/Pouch machines
  • Electrical experience; AC/DC and high voltage equipment

Working conditions:

  • Inks and solvents create strong odor in the plant.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting during working hours
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (8+ hours/day)
  • Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
  • Overtime, on call, and weekends may be required
