About TC Transcontinental RBW Graphics
This position is based at the TC Transcontinental RBW Graphics plant in Owen Sound, Ontario, which has been in operation for over 171 years. With over 400 employees, it is the largest commercial printing plant of magazines, flyers, catalogues, and directories in Canada. Owen Sound is a smaller city filled with cultural, outdoor, and recreational activities.
Manufacturing Accountant (6 Month Term)
Status: Contract (6 months)
Schedule: Monday- Friday (8am-4pm)
Reports To: Financial Operations Controller
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manufacturing Accountant to join our team on a short-term contract basis at our facility based in Owen Sound. This role will support the Accounting Department in executing core accounting functions, with a focus on month-end and year-end close processes, cost accounting, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success:
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Support cost accounting functions including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial data related to manufacturing activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.
Qualifications
When your expertise drives us:
- CPA designation or working towards CPA is an asset but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Moderate Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
