Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for print, extrusion, lamination, slitting and bag departments. Working with all levels of supervision, graphics and customer service departments to ensure trials, outages, shutdowns and maintenance are properly, thoroughly, and safely planned and implemented by developing the sequence and lead time to meet the client forecasted schedule. Additionally, the Scheduler is responsible for working with designated procurement staff to ensure that any necessary materials and supplies are available to facilitate efficient and effective work schedules.

- Develop and maintain production schedules that optimize equipment, labor, and raw materials for maximum machine and personnel utilization.
- Review, update, and schedule new production orders in the company's system across all cost centers.
- Forecast daily or weekly machine needs to meet delivery targets.
- Identify production shortfalls and create action plans to resolve them.
- Prepare, update, and post daily production schedules for all cost centers.
- Communicate schedule changes to production supervisors and the warehouse team regarding shipments.
- Organize meetings with supervisors and operators for specific cost centers or machines as needed.
- Review open production orders and update their status as necessary.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) status and coordinate plans to reuse, reject, or advance materials.
- Generate reports and track backlogs for cost centers.
- Provide lead times to sales and customer service based on production load and capacity.
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings to review schedules and make adjustments.
- Create Finished Goods parts in the ERP system (AX).
- Anticipate production constraints, adjust plans, and identify corrective actions like overtime or outsourcing.
- Evaluate and revise Material Requirement Plans and purchase order documents to check availability and shipment status.
- Supply the Purchaser with material requisitions and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Graphics, and Sales to understand order release times, quantities, and art file statuses for scheduling.
- Achieve target KPIs, especially service levels (On-Time In-Full delivery).
- Update communication boards with relevant metrics.
- Schedule deliveries of raw materials and coordinate waste pickups.
- Support activities related to Food Safety Management.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
When your expertise drives us.
- A post-secondary degree in supply chain management, business management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience as a production planner is highly valued, and a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
- Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and similar software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- A positive attitude combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required.
- Effective time management skills are necessary, including the ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership over tasks, along with a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
- Possesses advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
