Overview

Create value at TC Transcontinental.

At TC Transcontinental, we've got it made, and that's because of the expertise of our team.

We have been driving innovation since 1976.

Founded 50 years ago and 4,000 employees strong, Transcontinental Inc. (TSX: TCL.A TCL.B), known under the TC Transcontinental brand, is a Canadian retail marketing services company, Canada's largest printer, and the Canadian leader in French-language educational publishing. Driven by the vision of a more informed, educated and prosperous society, TC Transcontinental propels its clients' success across the retail, education, book and information industries. With agility, creativity and boldness, we design and deliver innovative, high-value products and services.

We are currently looking for an Industrial Designer to design retail displays, décor, and signage that go from concept to production to installation. This role sits at the intersection of creative design, engineering detail, and manufacturing execution — ideal for a designer who wants to see their ideas built, installed, and refined in the real world.

You’ll work closely with studio members, prototype/production teams, suppliers, and installation crews to ensure design intent translates cleanly into high quality fabricated solutions.

Work environment: Regular collaboration with TC production facilities (Aurora, Brampton, Newkirk, Paris). Occasional site visits and off site audits as required by project needs. Hybrid work mode.

This position is currently open and reflects a replacement position due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.

  • Creating production ready drawings with materials, hardware, and fabrication details.
  • Supporting prototype builds, first offs, and quality reviews.
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplined studio, production teams and suppliers (domestic and offshore).
  • Participating in site visits, surveys, and installations to ensure real world execution.
  • Preparing assembly and installation instructions for accurate executions.
  • Researching materials, hardware, fabrication methods, and sustainable options.

This is not a desk only role — you’ll regularly engage with manufacturing, testing, and installation environments.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Industrial Design, Technical Drawing, or related field
  • 3–5 years in industrial design, retail design, signage, fixtures, or fabrication based environments
