We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to work on a brand new platform currently in development. This role includes full ownership of QA from both an automation and manual testing perspective.
This position is currently open and reflects a new position created to support organizational growth
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure clarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities.
Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Serve as the technical lead on software testing with Playwright as the primary automation framework, including coaching, mentoring, and training other QA testers to build their automation skills.
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced automated test scripts using Playwright and related tools.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by creating and executing both automated and manual test cases, with the expectation to shift toward automation as the framework matures.
- Lead all aspects of testing including system testing, smoke testing, integration testing, interface testing, and regression testing.
- Research and report issues/defects into a problem tracking system.
- Work with development teams to develop test scripts and utilize test suites.
- Develop and integrate test automation utilities and harness these in the deployment process.
- Design and implement overall automated testing software infrastructure to support modular test management and execution.
- Document test results and produce reports measuring test effectiveness & efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other development and technical personnel.
- Participate and conduct peer reviews of automated test scripts to improve team skills.
- Develop and deliver training sessions, documentation, and best-practice guides to train the QA team on Playwright and automation practices.
- Be knowledgeable of our software products including benefits and business proposition they provide to our customers.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to stay productive while working either independently or as part of team projects.

Qualifications
When your expertise drives us:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT related field
- 5+ years of test automation experience with additional hands-on manual testing experience
- Experience with JIRA and QA test case software such as TestRail
- Knowledge of testing software such as JMeter, BrowserStack, PostMan etc.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright as the primary automation framework (required).
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and scripting languages such as Python are required
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, MS SQL or Oracle DB
- Familiarity with IDEs such as Visual Studio Code etc.
- Excellent analytical problem diagnosis, investigation and solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to learn and adapt to high paced environment where a candidate is required to often switch from one project to another
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching team members on automation practices and tools
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required (ability to receive and provide feedback a must)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and under tight deadlines is a must
Desirable:
- Experience with Selenium or other automation frameworks in addition to Playwright
- Skilled in User Experience-driven testing
- Results-oriented with a disciplined approach to documentation
- Bilingual in English & French a strong asset
- Will work best in a flexible generalist environment with a broad scope of application
